In 2008, the family of Dr. Sam-Chung Hsieh donated his personal archive to Stanford Libraries and endowed the Dr. Sam-Chung Hsieh Memorial Lecture series to honor his legacy and to inspire future generations.
The annual lecture features scholars and professionals and focuses on topics that reflects aspects of Dr. Hsieh's career: agricultural development, economic development, international finance, central banking, development banking (including venture capital), and technology industries.
Past lecturers include: Yasheng Huang, Susan Shirk, Barry Naughton, Xu Chenggang, Dan Voytas, and Arif Husain.
